Tand-Fé
A downloadable game
As I lay me down to sleep,
I hope and pray my teeth, I'll keep...
If all are claimed, and snatched away,
I'll lose my soul to the Tand-Fé...
Tand-Fé is a solo micro-RPG, written for the 24 Word RPG Jam and inspired by folklore surrounding the Tooth Fairy, and the rather questionable decision made by many parents to hand their children's teeth over to a member of the fair folk.
You, and your thirty two teeth, have made a bargain of Tand-Fé - and a strange, whiskered creature (is Tand-Fé its name? Or its price? You aren't sure...) emerges from the dark every night to play a simple game that hinges solely on the repeated flip of a new coin. Win, and your chosen request is granted. Lose, and your teeth and soul belong to the creature...
Content Warnings -- Teeth, Horror
Touchstones -- Folklore surrounding the Tooth Fairy, particularly the French Fairy Tale 'La Bonne Petite Souris' which introduced the idea that mice or rats may somehow be involved, and the Northern European tradition of tand-fé or 'tooth fee'. Also, folklore surrounding the fair folk themselves, deals struck with them, and hags or crones.
IMPORTANT UPDATE: Tand Fé is getting an update! I am setting up a crowdfunding for Backerkit's Pocketopia as part of the team at Hatched Games, and three zines will be on offer as fully fledged solo journaling games using the Carta SRD - including Tand Fé!

A wonderful game full of all the fear and terror of the original Tooth Fairy folklore. I’m shocked at how much Kat was able to fit into just 24 words!
Definitely check this one out!
Can't believe this is only 24 words! Took me a hot minute to figure it out but once I did it's mechanically sound and definitely on theme. Nice work!
Thank you so much, and thank you once again for the amazing art that you drew, it truly meant a lot!
